Aims/Objectives Students will demonstrate their understanding of the theories discussed in class, covered in the readings and explored in the series of seminars, workshops and
guest lectures. You will select from one cutting edge topic in crisis and issues communications to explore, research and comment on in a report format (complete
with full referencing). This report is to be a review of the literature and practices, be limited to 3000 words (including the bibliography).
Assessment Description Using an issue in the media (MY ISSUE IS THE LIBERAL PARTY SLUSH FUND SCANDAL), define the problem, identify critical factors, and develop a series of
recommendations and justify the most appropriate solution to the problem. Recommendations will be supported by working theories in public relations, decision-
making, marketing communication and issues and crisis communication.
