For this assessment you are required to describe, discuss and analyse the role you are undertaking and the workplace context in which your learning is occurring. In particular you need to reflect on:

how you are using and developing the VU graduate capabilities through your role
occupational health and safety in your organisation and how this impacts on your role – there is an OHS Learning Module in WebCT that will assist you with this
the relevance of your university studies to your role, how you have used what you have learnt at university in the role and how well you feel this prepared you for what you are doing now.
The word limit for the reflection is 1500 words, so this means you should spend about 400 words on each of these, leaving the remaining word count for the introduction and summary. You will need to be economical in order to be able to reflect and discuss these three areas within the word count. In addition you also need to incorporate 4-5 references (of which at least 3 must be journal articles ) in the reflective journal and make sure you have a properly formatted, complete and accurate reference list in Harvard style.

This reflective journal is not a diary – rather it is an academic reflection on theory in practice and as such you are expected to link ideas in the journals to relevant theory and research.You are required to use the resources provided in WebCT to provide context and support for your reflections. This academic material should be integrated with the material in the report and must be referenced using Harvard Referencing Style.
