Read the article “The Estrogen Hypothesis of Obesity” which is found on Blackboard Learn.

1.) Introduce your essay with a summary of the aim of the study described in the last paragraph of the section titled “Materials and Methods”. Make sure this is written in your own words and not copied directly from the article.
2.) Regarding the study described in the last paragraph of section “Material and Methods”, mention the two data repositories where values of variables are collected from and explicitly write what WHO stands for (guide yourself from the context and the variables that are looked up from that source).
3.) Regarding the study described in the last paragraph of section “Material and Methods”, discuss the variables used in the linear regression.
4.) Mention how the authors assess the significance of a correlation based on what is explicitly written in the paper.
5.- Discuss under what circumstances the authors can use the method indicated in the above question. Include explicitly the null and alternative hypothesis that they are testing .
6.- Regarding Figure 4. From how many countries did the authors collect data from the repositories indicated in question 3? Discuss what is presented in the figure and explicitly mention what is the explanatory variable (independent) and what is the response variable (dependent).
7.- Discuss the relationship between the two variables which values are represented in Figure 4. Make sure to include in the discussion the type of relationship, the strength, the direction, the value of the correlation, whether that value of the correlation refers to the sample or to the population, the percentage of variability in the response variable explained by the regression line and whether an increase in the value of the explanatory variable implies an increase in the value of the response variable. Make reference to the figure and values in the paper to support the above discussion.
8.- Based on the results of the regression state the equation that is used to predict the GDP per capita (in US dollars) of a country based on male to female ratio of obesity (write explicitly the names of the variables when writing the regression equation). Use this equation to calculate GDP when the ratio is 2. Explain whether this is a prediction or extrapolation. Make sure you discuss your answer
