Assignment 3: Problem Based Learning in Natural Resource Management Learning Goals of Assignment 3 The learning outcomes of the interactive problem-based activity were to create the opportunity for individual students to: 1) review and think critically about the information on the content areas in question; 2) demonstrate that you can access up-to-date, relevant and informative information about the content areas in question; 3) interpret and interrogate information you have collected and form their own opinion, and follow-up questions in relation to the content area in question; 4) deliver a written response that demonstrates a high degree of synthesis and analysis of the relevant content area; 5) within the written response supply evidence that demonstrates that you have understood the content area and have critically evaluated information used in the written response (i.e., they are able to judge its level of reliability and worth); 6) produce a written response that can be easily read and understood by a wide audience, and 7) reflect on learning arising from the process of composing the written answer. Assessment of student performance was based on the above learning outcomes and built into a criterion referencing framework using a marking framework which evaluates the quality of your written response. Each written response is expected to be: • carefully reasoned with evidence supplied by relevant examples • logically structured (concentrating on steps 6, 7 and 8) • well researched and referenced (please refer to https://www.une.edu.au/tlc/students/publications/referencing.pdf )
