As part of a QC standardisation work stream i am being challenged to come up with an archiving strategy in order to reduce storage costs and avoid running out of space which we are almost out of.

I need to work out a one shot archiving strategy aligned to the forthcoming upgrade so that we are only migrating the data we actually need and then an ongoing archiving strategy to free up space periodically (say once a year) to archive old information.

The strategy needs to determine what data can be archived, how and where it gets archived and when etc.
