Are you ready for a mobile phone that is different? A mobile phone that is cool? A mobile phone that is funky? Then you want to check out the Nokia 6600 Fold. This is definitely not your run of the mill phone, this phone is special.
The Fold is a 3G clam shell phone that has some really nice features. First of all the outer display is invisible. But just like magic, it comes to life when you tap it two times. It will light up to show you the time, also display messages and missed calls. If you want to refuse a call just tap the display. To open the phone, just press a special key and the device gracefully swings open.
This magical little phone is available in two highly glossed colors, purple or black. The phone is very compact measuring 88x44x16mm, but is a little on the heavy side, weighing in at 110 grams.
When you open this stunning device you will find a very usable keypad and a compact and very defined LCD display. The high quality OLED display offers a resolution of 240×320 pixels and 16 million colors. The Fold is also extremely comfortable, fitting snugly in the palm of your hand and is very easy to text with.
The Nokia Fold offers a 2 megapixel camera with a double LED flash and an impressive 8x digital zoom. It lacks autofocus but still takes decent photos in reasonable lighting conditions. The camera can also record video at a rate of 15 frames per second. There is even a second camera on the inside for video calls.
The Fold has a pretty decent music system. It offers a stereo digital music player that supports MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+. There is also an FM radio built in. Unfortunately, you will need to use the headphones that are included in the box, since there is no 3.5mm audio jack.
For connectivity the Nokia Fold supports Bluetooth 2.0 and a micro USB connection. The Fold uses the Opera Mini browser and also has Nokia Mini Map browser with Nokia Maps, but it doesn’t support GPS.
For storing all your files, texts, photos and music, the Fold gives you 16GB internal memory with the option to upgrade up to 4GB via a micro SD card.
The phone will give you 240 minutes of talk time and 300 hours of stand-by time between charges.
Some of the things we like about the Nokia Fold are it’s unique, sleek look and electronic flip. We also like the tap and see screen and the built-in maps.
Some of the things we don’t like are the 2 mega pixel camera, which we found to be very weak. We also don’t like the fact that you can only upgrade your memory to 4GB.
All in all, it’s very hard not to like this phone because of its great style and unique features. However, the Nokia Fold is all style and not much substance.
