Conduct research on and discuss the topic of contracts.
1. Locate and post to the Forum a contract that relates to a key concept discussed in this week’s course material. For example, you might locate the contract for the purchase of a new or used vehicle, scan it into a PDF document, and post it. Another possibility is if you “shop on line” to purchase a download for your ITunes, you are asked to review and agree to terms and conditions of purchase for your own use. Select, copy and paste this contract into a Word document to post. Also, while there are many sites where you can get “legal forms,” there are free forms available at All About Law.
NOTE: This is an exercise to learn about contracts; in most contract situations, it is highly recommended that you consult with an attorney and have a contract prepared by the attorney.
2. Analyze one of the provisions of the contract relating to a key discussed in your assigned reading and/or in this module. Write a short summary or what you learned in your analysis. For example, if you select a contract for the purchase of a car where you buy the car on credit, analyze the credit provisions relating to statutes on “truth in lending.” If you select a contract from the web, you could focus on a contract formation issue involving the offer and acceptance process.
