Cities and their inhabitants face many multifaceted and interconnected challenges from rising poverty to climate change. Urban sustainability offers city planners and managers an approach to sustain economic vitality while ensuring social equity and environmental protection. However, multiplicity of approaches and lack of standardization has prompted many cities to adopt piece-meal or ad-hoc sustainability strategies.  This project aims to build a broader understanding of urban sustainability through a comparative analysis of sustainability strategies in three cities.
