Develop an entity-relationship model for the Hilton Hotel business situation using UML class notation. This Visio file contains a template that you can use: Assignment1-

Overview

The concepts of primary key, foreign key, and table representations are the foundation for understanding the newer data management techniques you will be learning in this course.

The best way to review is to create an entity-relationship model for a sample problem, then implement the resulting model in data-definition language of SQL. Thus, a sample problem is provided and you should review entity-relationship modeling techniques, listen to the recorded review of ER modeling, carefully analyze the Hilton hotel problem description, and begin to develop your ER model.

You should complete the following activities:

1) Describe the key requirements and data required to support them for the Hilton Hotel presented in the situation described in the attached file: DBProblemDescriptionHiltonResorts-1.docx

2) Create an entity-relationship model for the Hilton Hotel business situation using UML class notation. This Visio file contains a template that you can use: Assignment1-Template.vsdx

3) Explain why your entity-relationship model is in third-normal-form (or justify if not 3NF).

4) Create the SQL DDL that creates the 10 most important tables represented in your UML Class diagram.

5) Write the SQL Procedure that demonstrates that your design is capable of reporting all of the charges a guest has generated during a stay, i.e., the total amount and list of charges provided at checkout. (Note you do not have to implement your design in a DBMS to show that your SQL satisfies this requirement.)

6) Write the SQL to find the hotel that generates the most revenue.

7) Write the SQL to find the service that generates the most revenue for each hotel.

8) Write another interesting question your design can answer.

9) Write the SQL to answer your question from #8.

Directions: Please begin this assignment soon, as it will take longer than you expect to work carefully through the problem description and create your initial ER model. You are to create a MS Word document that contains your description of the data needed, ER model (which should be created with Visio or other drawing tool with UML class diagram template), relational model associating attributes with classes, and your explanation of your database normal form.

You should create your DDL file using Notepad++, which will help you to check syntax and aids our grading process. When completed, please upload your Word document and DDL text file under the “Assignments” tab. Please use a document naming convention that allows us to determine your name. EXAMPLE: “LastName_FirstName_Assn1.docx or .txt .sql”.

Submission Requirements

· Briefly describe the data for the Hilton Hotel, 1 page. (5 points)

· Using UML Class Diagramming notation, create a complete model for all of the data needed for this business situation. Use MS Visio or other tool to draw your diagram. Do not add attributes to the diagram. Record your attributes as a relational model, i.e., class name and list of attribute names, e.g., Patient(C_Patient_PA, T_PatientFirstName_PA, d_BirthDate_PA). Use the following naming convention for your attributes: c_ indicates a key or foreign key attribute; d_ is a date variable; i_ indicates an integer, n_ indicates some numeric value with decimal places, and t_ indicates an attribute contains a text or string value. Also, add a two character class abbreviation, e.g., _pa, indicating the class the attribute is in the Patient table. Note any assumptions. (20 points)

· Evaluate your model to determine its normal form. Briefly, 1 paragraph, explain what normal form your model is in and why this is the appropriate normal form. Note any assumptions. (5 points)

· Write the create table SQL statements needed to implement the ten most important tables in your relational model. Be sure to include appropriate constraints for keys and foreign keys. Use Notepad++ to create a file with .sql extension for this part of the assignment and also submit that file to the assignment 1 folder. (20 points)

· Write the SQL Procedure that demonstrates that your design is capable of reporting all of the charges a guest has generated during a stay, i.e., the total amount and list of charges provided at checkout. (Note you do not have to implement your design in a DBMS to show that your SQL satisfies this requirement.) (10 points)

· Write the SQL to find the hotel that generates the most revenue. (10 points)

· Write the SQL to find the service that generates the most revenue for each hotel. (10 points)

· Write another interesting question your design can answer. (10 points)

· Write the SQL to answer your question from #8. (10 points)

Assessment

Your ER diagram, normal form explanation, and DDL will be evaluated for correctness and completeness. Correctness is how well your model represents the problem, e.g., the model includes the correct entities and relationships among them, along with appropriate attributes. Completeness is how well your model satisfies all of the requirements of the problem situation.

Identify your Course Project setting (Arizona State University) and provide a brief description of your team?s proposed curriculum or program (Doctor of Nursing Science (DNSc) programs)

Theorists have always been interested in how people learn. They have created and refined learning theories and provided authentic examples of human motivation and learning preferences. Much research has also been conducted on how educators teach others. Literature suggests that even when educators did not believe that they were using a theory, they were in fact using one or more to drive their instruction. Though nurse educators may naturally incorporate theories into their instruction, great care should be taken to consciously incorporate theories into the design and presentation of the curriculum. Doing so will not only benefit diverse learners but also aid in the curriculum development process.
In this Discussion, you explore how learning theories offer distinct strategies, approaches, and considerations.

Questions to be addressed:
Review the learning theories presented in this week?s Learning Resources. How can each theory, or combination of theories, guide the curriculum development process? A brief description of how learning theories guide curriculum development.
2. Identify your Course Project setting (Arizona State University) and provide a brief description of your team?s proposed curriculum or program (Doctor of Nursing Science (DNSc) programs).
Reflect on the curriculum or program that your team is developing for your Course Project. In addition, reflect on the learning needs and diverse learning styles of your students/staff/patients.
Select one learning theory that you could apply to your team?s curriculum or program. Consider how this learning theory could guide your team?s curriculum development process.
5. Explain how your selected theory applies to your team?s curriculum/program by sharing at least two authentic examples.
Access the ?VARK: A Guide to Learning Styles? website, also found in this week?s Learning Resources (http://www.vark-learn.com/english/page.asp?p=questionnaire).Complete the learning styles assessment and review your scores and learning preferences. These results will assist you in your response post.
7. Summary/Conclusion of Applying Learning Theories to Nursing Curriculum and Programs

REMINDERS:
1) At least 3 pages (addressing the 7 questions above excluding the title page and reference page).
2) Kindly follow APA format for the citation and references! References should be between the period of 2011 and 2016. Please utilize the references at least three below as much as possible and the rest from yours.
3) Make headings for each question.

Assessment task 3 Assistance
The following is a guide to assist you in writing your essay.

Selection of your Case Study Students are required to select the scenario representative of their own health professional discipline and compare and contrast their duties in the chosen scenario to the duties of different health care professionals. If students are studying in a course that is a dual degree, they can focus on their two professional specialties for this assessment task.

As there are many disciplines undertaking the unit, you should pick the scenario that will represent a moral dilemma in your discipline. The scenarios are mainly generic and if you look at them holistically, they will demonstrate a multidisciplinary perspective. Think about how you would be involved in any given scenario.

As a guide only I have provided the following general essay information.

Paragraph and essay structure

An essay includes an introduction, body and conclusion.

The assessment task is 2000 words.

1. The introduction should provide the reader with a framework for the essay and what will be discussed. Sometimes it?s easier to write the introduction last or after you have completed outlining what you will be discussing. (Approximately 100 words)

2. The body of the essay is the crux of your discussion and will consume the bulk of your words. Your paragraph structure is important to note as follows:
? Each paragraph should have an introductory and concluding statement.
? Each paragraph should have a direct connection with the one prior and one after it. This allows the essay to flow.
3. The conclusion should provide a summary of the key points presented in the essay. (Approximately 100 words)

4.The definitions used in your essay should only use academic references (not online dictionaries)

5. It is important to note that this is an academic essay and should be written in the third person.

6. There are no minimum requirements for the number of sources you use however as a general guideline an academic paper can have 1 source per hundred words.

7. In regards to the currency of the references, there is no pre-determined time limit on the publication dates of your philosophical sources. However, if the discussion concerns current practice in your profession it will be expected that current and relevant literature is used (Usually within 5 years published age). If you have sourced a reference that is older than this you must demonstrate how it is relevant in your writing.

Finally from the rubric defining what we mean by the following:
Content, evidence and examples
Everything you have included should be relevant to the scenario and to the unit ? Health care ethics and health law. Examples to support you resolution will enhance your discussion. You can source these from real legal cases that are accessible through the library or online.

Critical thinking, reasoning and evaluation of the evidence ? What do the experts state regarding the topic? Here you present the research you have undertaken and looking at different perspectives. You should then synthesis the research by asking yourself ?What connections can I make regarding the research into expert discussions? and finally evaluation means what conclusion do I come to after presenting the arguments based on my analysis and synthesis?

Referencing ? Must be APA 6th edition.
.

Assessment Task 3: Essay ? An Ethical Dilemma

Case study 4, address the following points.

1. Determine the stakeholders including two health care professionals in the case scenario:
RN, Paramedic and Patient

2. Differentiate the ethical and legal conflicts and explain them from the following perspectives:
? The dignity and rights of stakeholders in this case
RN ? Deontology and Virtuous, has the stakeholder done the right thing? PARAMEDIC ? Deontology,
PATIENT ? Libertarianism (dignity of patient)

? The principles of health care ethics that inform professional practice
RN ? Beneficence, Non-maleficence, PARAMEDIC – Non-maleficence, PATIENT – Respect for autonomy

? The relevant nursing codes of ethics and codes of professional conduct
RN ? Code of Conduct/Code of Ethics
PARAMEDIC ? Code of Conduct
PATIENT- Rights & Responsibilities

3. Propose a legally and ethically defensible resolution to these conflicts
? Is it ethically defendable
? Did the patient have capacity to give consent?
? Just because its ethical is it legal go against the patients wishes
? Justify why the nurse has called the ambulance

CASE STUDY FOUR

Elsie Lee, 88 years old had recently moved to a Residential Aged Care Facility (RAC). She had difficulty mobilising due to severe rheumatoid arthritis as well as short-term memory and vision impairment. Elsie also had a history of AMI, removal of bilateral cataracts, and a (L) hip replacement four years ago. On admission to the RAC facility, on Tuesday afternoon, the Nurse Manager suggested that Elsie consider making out an advanced care directive (ACD), indicating what she would want done in the event that her health should deteriorate. Elsie agreed and awaited the help of her family when they visited on Sunday. She was pleased to have this opportunity as, although she had discussed her wishes with her family, she wanted to make it clear to staff caring for her that she did not want aggressive treatment of any kind and did not want to be resuscitated. On Friday night, Elsie developed severe chest pain, which radiated down her (L) shoulder, an irregular pulse and a BP of 73/48 and the RN on duty called the ambulance. Elsie pleaded with the paramedics to leave her ?as she was?; the R.N. insisted that they transport Elsie to hospital, as she had not filled out an ACD indicating otherwise. In transit to the hospital, Elsie suffered a cardiac arrest. The paramedics attempted resuscitation but were unsuccessful. On arrival to the ED, Elsie was pronounced dead. Her family determined that Elsie?s death was brought on by the stress of being moved to hospital. They decided to sue the R.N., the paramedics and the RAC facility for assault and battery.

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

Case Scenario

You are a nurse working in drug and alcohol consultation and liaison service. You arrive on duty at 0900 hours and have been delegated a referral for a drug and alcohol assessment, the client is waiting in the emergency department of the in the local hospital.

Referral information so far:

Tom is a 19 year old labourer who lives with his mother (Theresa). His father was an alcoholic and left the family when Tom was 8 years old. Tom was brought in by police under section 22 of the Mental Health Act, after a passer-by noticed Tom bleeding and lying on the side of the road and called an ambulance. He refused to go to hospital and the ambulance officers called the Police. The police reported that when they approached Tom he shouted ?I am better off dead? and ?I know the devil wants me?. He arrived in the emergency department around 3 a.m. with a lacerated arm.

On arrival to the emergency department he appeared to be heavily intoxicated. At the triage station his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was recorded as 0.22mg/%. A number of superficial scratches and a 2.5 cm laceration to his left arm were noted. He had told the triage nurse that he has been drinking since 7 pm the previous day. A number of severe acne type lesions were noticed on Tom?s face and also some track marks noted.

Overnight Tom?s lacerations were treated, he was initially hostile but then his hyper-vigilance decreased and he slept until 6 am when he woke and became agitated, wanting to leave immediately but was able to be settled with 10 mg of oral diazepam.

Tom?s girlfriend, Jenna aged 16 years, apparently visited at about 04.00 AM. She had been looking for him after they had a fight yesterday afternoon/ evening. Jenna was described as looking approximately 6 months pregnant, unkempt, with facial acne and some visible track marks. Jenna said Tom has been a real worry for the last 6 weeks since he was arrested and charged for 3 break and entering offences and one assault. He is due to appear in court over these matters in 2 weeks. Jenna told the nurses that Tom reckons he was being framed for those offences by someone evil and then she left at around 04.30 AM in the company of her girlfriend.

A medical officer was called and provided a very brief assessment before prescribing diazepam. The client?s notes include his mental state examination as follows:

Appearance & behaviour: Thin, unkempt young man, dressed in a hospital gown, pacing up and down next to his hospital bed and continued to move constantly during the interview: seeming hyper-vigilance and intense eye contact noted. Cooperative but guarded

Mood: Claims he is fine

Affect: Agitated and volatile, easily annoyed.

Speech: Fast rate, clipped rhythm and direct.

At times answering with few words ? though not really monosyllabic.

Thought Form: A few times he seemed to have trouble answering or provided an irrelevant answer, but seemed to quickly pass over these incidents/ a bit like he was covering up

Thought Content: Denies any current suicidal ideas. Claims he just cut himself with a bottle because he felt depressed about his charges but he didn?t want to kill himself.

Says he doesn?t know why he does it. Says that people are framing him for the break and enters he is charged with and that he wants to leave hospital as they might try to get him here.

Denies visual or auditory hallucinations but became a little annoyed by me asking these questions

Write a case analysis using the information provided depicting the assessment and management of this client.

When writing your paper consider the following points.

?Analyse the information provided in the history and mental state examination provided and identify relevant issues.
?Discuss the immediate assessment and screening tools indicated and explain why they are indicated. Identify how a comprehensive might be achieved.
?Explain any immediate interventions that might be required
?Discuss appropriate management strategies and treatment models that could be included in Tom?s treatment plan
?Identify any other health professionals needed and evaluate the optimal way for one or more health professionals to be involved in Tom?s care
Support your discussion with current literature and incorporate best practice guidelines into your answer.

Prepare For The 6 Source Essay And The Synthesis Of Sources Essay (Literature Review)

Prepare For The 6 Source Essay And The Synthesis Of Sources Essay (Literature Review)

Your third writing assignment (WA #3) in WRTG 391 will be a six-source essay, or an expanded synthesis. This essay will lead you to your final essay (WA #4), a multiple-source synthesis essay, also known as a literature review.

Watch the two video tutorials from UMUC Library, “How to Write a Literature Review” and “How to Write a Synthesis Essay,” and complete the following task.

Imagine that you are working for department within a large company. The manager of your department is considering allowing workers in your department to telework, in other words, to work from home.

However, your manager is not sure what to expect from this possible change.

She is not sure what the advantages, pitfalls, unexpected issues, etc. are of allowing teleworking. For example, she is not sure whether workers become less productive because they will be working from home and not supervised. She also considers the possibility that workers will become more productive because they won’t have to worry about traffic and parking. They won’t have to take large amounts of time off to get children to a doctor’s appointment, to see a doctor themselves, to take care of errands, etc. It is possible that working from home will improve productivity.

Other questions abound in her mind. For example, how many days a week should the workers be allowed to telework? Should they be limited to one day? Two days? Or should they be unlimited to telework as many days as they would like per week?

In addition, she is not sure if everyone should be allowed to telework or if perhaps only people in certain positions should be allowed to telework. For example, she knows that the janitor cannot telework. His job could not be done at a distance. But some individuals could telework, as their jobs involve meetings and other functions that could be accomplished at a distance.

Overall, your manager is somewhat at a loss on this issue.

Your manager has asked you to review the literature on teleworking. She has asked that you submit a literature review to her next month on the topic of teleworking.

From what you have gleaned in this class about what a literature review is, what is your manager asking you to do?

Does she want a proposal that supports a new teleworking arrangement?

Does she want a persuasive paper that takes a stand against teleworking?

Or does she want something entirely different from those two options?

Please give your answer in a paragraph of 5-10 sentences.

Identify a muscle strengthening and reconditioning rehabilitative approach for Janine.

Identify a muscle strengthening and reconditioning rehabilitative approach for Janine.

Order Description
Janine Keswick, a 45 year old woman, is admitted to your ward after a 3-week stay in ICU. As a result of a motor vehicle accident,

Janine sustained unstable open-book pelvic fracture and spiral fracture of the right mid-femur. Following surgery, she was ventilated in ICU for two weeks and required inotropic support due to sepsis. She was fed enterally while intubated.

Research evidence shows that survivors of severe critical illness, like Janine, experience prolonged neuromuscular complications after discharge from ICU.

Research also shows that rehabilitation for patients who sustain pelvic and lower extremity trauma is complex. Janine?s weight-bearing status is restricted; she will not be fully weight-bearing until 12 weeks after her injury and surgery.

In this essay, you are required to:

? Analyse the pathogenesis of neuromuscular weakness in critically ill patients, with particular reference to Janine;

? Identify a muscle strengthening and reconditioning rehabilitative approach for Janine.

Provide the scientific evidence that supports this approach.

Please keep your focus on the scientific knowledge that underpins your specialty area (relevant anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, treatments).

Do not be tempted to present nursing interventions.

NOTE:EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE SCIENTIFIC and based on EVIDENCED BASE LITERATURE…
