The three versions of love described in Plato’s Symposium differ significantly. Phaedrus’ version of love is centered on gods whereas Phaedrus and Aristophanes’ versions overly exemplify the doing of good for men and women. However, all versions contain an element of emotional feelings/attachment or admiration which ostensibly appears to have somewhat informed the contemporary definition of love. Phaedrus asserts “Love will make men dare to die for their beloved-love alone. and women as well as men” (Benjamin N.p). His definition of love is more centered on romance hence more supportive of my contemporary understanding of love.
Love is often a contentious matter that touches on several aspects of life and thus attracts the attention of philosophers. The speakers in Symposium suggest that love is worth discussing probably to segregate it from lust and infatuation. Love lingers in the memories of many and the philosophers’ efforts to derive an ostensible, single definition of love fails due to the differences in social settings and upbringing. Individuals grow in different social settings that hugely impacts and influences their interpretation and understanding of love. The imprecision of love is thus attributable to the differences in social settings.

In their study, the team first sought to understand the basis of chirality and how it occurs in nature. As an initial understanding, regular triangles are achiral in nature while human hands are chiral. Two achiral objects or molecules can be superimposed on top of each other. Several biomolecules within the body exist in one chiral form and the other form is not present. In their quest to determine how chiral objects are formed, they used achiral particles from which chiral structures are formed spontaneously. They employed the technique of lithography to manufacture millions of achiral particles in the shape of a triangle. With the help of optical microscopy, dense systems of such achiral triangular particles were studied which revealed that several of these achiral particles spontaneously arranged themselves into two-triangle super-structures, each of which exhibited a particular chiral form. This is visible by the specific orientations of the super-structures when viewed under microscopy. This discovery lead the team to conclude that biological chirality was the result of the physical phenomena of entropy. This study has shown that chiral structures can form when physical entropic forces act on achiral particles which are of uniform nature. These achiral particles spontaneously form chiral structures through Brownian movement when placed on a flat surface.
While the phenomena of entropy are generally considered to cause disorganization of molecules, however, in this case the interaction of particles at a high density has resulted in an increased ability to move in a regulated manner. This has caused the particles to change into a partially ordered liquid crystal which, in turn, consists of chiral triangular shaped super-structures. With this experiment, the team has concluded that for chirality to spontaneously occur, two physical entities, namely entropy and the physical

Chinese women have been deprived their rights in politics, economy, social and familial life through the existing patriarchal feature of Chinese society. Women do not enjoy inheritance of property and possession rights hence they do not have an independent source of income. These inheritance and succession are passed through the male line which makes it impossible for them to enjoy freedom in marriage and have to follow everything dictated to them (Thernstorm 5). The system of polygamy and prostitution subjected to them cause physical and mental torture because they are forced to abide without questioning. According to a research done by Horizon Research and a survey by Ifeng, Com survey in 2012, shows that men own 80{58c50e6204e66a2fb38b62b794f668df19a01f244e0d370252913e7b0d8d6892} of marital homes (Fichner 1). This indicates a great disparity between property ownership among men and women and many disparities. Most of the married have few or no right or power over the material owned by their families because they are named after their husbands.
Education of a woman in china does not matter. When a woman reaches the age of marriage, she has to follow the laid done rules and laws that come with the head of the family. These rules are subject to women battering, and they feel alienated. Both men and women tend to work long hours in paying employment, and an encouragement is given to women to remain in the labor force even after having given birth. Studies have shown battered women in China are more likely to remain in those abusive relationships because of existence of insecure property rights.

Write a 2 page essay on The question of diversity and evolution.

During the process of natural selection, the offspring obtain their biological traits from the parent organism. This process of inheritance is usually geared towards developing an organism that is best suited to survive in the eternal environment in which it is being born into (Söll, Nishimura and Moore). This is accomplished through inheritance. However, inheritance encourages and increases competition. This is because the natural selection and inheritance process provides only the best genetically material for the offspring. This creates a situation where the offspring competes with the parent organism for the available resources. However, the offspring is favored to best survive in this environment owing to the fact that the new organism ideally has the best possible genetic make-up available from the parent organism to best survive in their environment. Therefore, inheritance increase and encourages competition within a given ecosystem.

This concept is generally true. This is because history has shown that the next generation is usually far much improved and more efficient in survival within their environment compared to the parent organism (Gibson). A good example is the history and evolution of man. Previous species of human beings were apes. Through the process of natural selection and inheritance, modern day Homo sapiens have the ability to best survive in the changing environment as compared to previous species from which human beings originated. These previous species have become extinct due to their inability to adapt and survive and the competition that they received from their more advanced and evolved counterparts.

This argument can however be challenged. This can be achieved by looking at the fact that there are numerous cases where natural selection does not improve the species that originates from the parent organism. Again, human provide the best example to this. While the natural selection

However, the constant parameter is that an individual is within a state of consciousness that is considerable as normal, habitual and ordinary (“States of consciousness, n.d).
On the other hand, a non-ordinary state of consciousness refers to an alteration from our ordinary consciousness status. An example is day dreaming which differs from an ordinary state that is characterized by limitations in the level of imagination. In addition, the status of day dreaming is not an aspect of logical thinking. Fantasies are also an example of non-ordinary consciousness state as a person pictures a situation which is beyond the present reality and partakes in thought processes that are not part of his or norm. Hence, illustrating the difference between the two states as one is logical, habitual and within normal logical reasoning whereas the other is a stretch of reality and would not be carried out by an individual on a constant basis (“States of consciousness,

It makes us wonder whether in this context, globalisation is actually beneficial as the neoliberals claim. In fact, time has come to search for other viable alternatives, or if necessary, to modify globalisation in such a manner that it really helps to serve the poor and needy, and helps to remove all boundaries of inequality.
Executive Summary: A close look at the arguments presented by the neoliberal theorists will show us that in the past two decades there has been a marked decrease in the income inequality index factor and also a downward growth rate of the poverty factor, a great deviation from the picture that we have seen for a century and a half. Neoliberal arguments further explain that this improved picture is arising mainly from the globalization factor that is bringing about a fusion of economies throughout the world breaking all national borders and boundaries. A look at the economic conditions of the third world countries reveal that, nearly all of the South East Asian countries, especially China and India, have progressed rapidly with a fall in poverty rates. However the central and eastern European countries, comprising many of the former members of the Soviet Union republic, and the countries of the sub-Saharan belt have regressed and shown increased poverty levels. The Latin American countries are stagnant as far as their poverty graph is concerned. however the neoliberal argument says that globalization is here to stay, since after the break down of Bretton Woods, it has been generally concluded that it is more beneficial to have an converging system, instead of opting for interests that conflict and create barriers. This paper will explore and will take an in-depth look at the arguments put forward by the neoliberal theories, and will analyze the empirical basis for their arguments.

So as to ensure the network security and security of information on the network, an organization has to have a response and investigation plan. There are many reasons as to why an organization should use a response and investigation plan. According to Vacca and Rudolph (2011), a response and investigation plan offers solutions to how hacking/intrusion attacks can be handled by the organization reducing damage and loss. This, however, builds confidence with the shareholders and helps cut losses that are as a result of hacking. With that in mind, this paper intends to provide a response and investigation plan for a large manufacturing Aspen Company with extensive intellectual property distributed across multiple locations in the United States and Latin America. There have been several recent small scale hacking/intrusion attacks that appear to be reconnaissance efforts for a larger scale attack. Reentry, the company faced an attack which affected its customer and shareholders data.
Hacking/intrusion attack is not an issue that is going to go away anytime soon. As the internet grows, and more users come online, hackers and introducers want to have access to personal data or organization’s confidential information (Anson, Bunting, Johnson & Pearson, 2012). This means that Aspen Company has to be able to detect any act of hacking/intrusion done in their systems. So as to do so, there has to be a forensic response and investigation plan. The forensic response and investigation plan described in this section documents the procedures Aspen Company followed after their hacking/intrusion attack. The forensic response and investigation plan will include. determining the nature of the attack and evidence handling and documentation.
Identifying the occurrence of hacking/intrusion attacks even if it is an IT-related issue cannot always be the sole obligation

Knowing how to communicate with decorum will help keep the business as well as grow some leads for the next business. (Columbia University Centre for Career education, 2012).

Ensuring continued premises maintenance: In this kind of business, professional presentation go a long way in expressing how organized a company is and thus winning the customers trust. It will be essential to consider doing office maintenance as a way of setting professional standards for the services we provide. ( Columbia University Centre for Career education, 2012)

Ensuring that tenants understand the tenure contract: Most of the times, tenants take less interest on terms of lease. Many of them do not understand the meaning of terms like triple net lease, load factor, full service e.t.c. It is important for the proprietor to ensure that the tenant understand what they are signing to avoid any conflict when bleach of tenure happens. (Wolfe, 2012).

Keeping to the tenure contact: To develop trust and reliability, it is important for the company to ensure that contracts and agreements are kept strict (Wolfe, 2012). This will go a long way in buying customer’s trust as well as open leads for future business.

As a cubicle space leasing company, it is important to consider professional practices like phone and communication etiquette, premise maintenance, leading tenants to understand the tenure contract and commitment to keep to the tenure contract. All the etiquette concerns should be geared towards establishing business leads and maximum trust in the company’s professionalism.

epics. the parallel with Homer’s works can be found in Virgil’s attempt to define the two parts of the story as an odyssey and a tale of war–though in reverse of Homer’s story structure. Because of the widespread use of Latin, Virgil succeeded in reaching a large audience and, as a result, was able to share and expand on the idea of the Roman hero.
The storyline of Aeneid explores the challenging journey of a pious, selfless warrior chosen by destiny to found the city of Rome. There are a variety of themes running through the story: the conflict of order vs. chaos. the superiority of the Roman hero. and the role of destiny in shaping a man’s actions. The reader can find these references within the prologue, as Virgil paints a vivid picture of the epic story to follow.
The central theme of order vs. chaos can be found in Virgil’s description of Aeneas’ journey across the treacherous seas. “A fugitive, this captain, buffeted/ Cruelly on land as on the sea/ By blows from powers of the air–behind them, / Baleful Juno in her sleepless rage” illustrates the representation of chaos–Juno being the embodiment of emotional rage–stirring the weather and causing havoc. Order is found in the presence of Aeneas as he fights to reach Rome–the land of rational thought and law.
Another theme is the ideal figure of the Roman hero. Aeneas is presented as the perfect example of Roman self-sacrifice, piety and clear-minded purpose. When Virgil states: “A man apart, devoted to his mission–/ To undergo so many perilous days/ And enter on so many trials” he is telling the reader of the exceptional strength–of both mind and body–found in his main protagonist.
The role of destiny plays a major role in Aeneas’ story. At the start of the prologue, we learn that “He came to Italy by destiny” and the reader understands the important nature of Aeneas’ assignment and purpose. Virgil ends his prologue with the following lines: “They wandered as
