Psychology Of Development

400 or more words

How does the development of self-awareness and self-esteem factor into the development of social problem solving skills? Based on what you’ve learned, does the media (social, video games, music, movies, etc.) help or hurt the development of social problem solving skills? Please give examples to support your claim.

I have a challenge for you. Can you find an example, online, of a child, (any stage of development), showing positive social problem solving skills and an example with poor or no social problem solving skills? Start your search locally. If you can’t find anything, broaden your search to state and national news. If you still can’t find anything you may use social media. Please post the results of your search. If you found something, post the link/s, a summary of what you found, and your thoughts about it.

Job Functions: Database Administrator Vs. HIM Department Manager

Job Functions: Database Administrator Vs. HIM Department Manager

Professionals working in the HIM field find that some of their job functions relate to or are similar to those of a database administrator. This assignment explores the functions of these two positions. Clearly, the positions are not the same, you will, however, see some crossover of function when the assignment is complete.

The assignment is outlined in three (3) steps below.

Step 1: prepare a table like the one below into a Word document and then fill in the information you gather in Step 2.

HIM Technician

Database Administrator

Primary Job Functions

Job Outlook (expected growth)

Approximate number of jobs in the field

Educational requirements and qualities to possess for the job

Step 2: Visit the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Outlook Handbook webpage https://www.bls.gov/ooh. Look up the description for the following job titles and enter the information in the Table you created in Step 1:

Database Administrator

Medical Records/Health Information Technician

Step 3: Finally, compare and contrast the job functions listed for these titles. Using complete paragraphs or another table if you like, identify and highlight differences you see in the job functions and then identify and highlight similarities you note in the job functions.

Your paper should use proper spelling/grammar and be at least two (2) pages long

The importance of trade continues to be a debated topic because the gains are not always quantifiable by those involved. Some would argue that due to a significant difference in wages and regulations, free trade is not always fair trade and that free trade agreements are used by companies to simply chase lower wages and fewer regulations. In the United States, this has been an ongoing debate in regard to both the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the normalized trade relationship with China. Take some time to read the following articles before beginning your post:

Free Trade vs. Fair Trade

U.S. Trade Strategy: Free Versus Fair

Based on what you have read, please address the following questions:

Which do you feel is a better approach, free or fair trade, and why?

Given the concept of comparative advantage, should we even be discussing free versus fair trade?

Security Management Week 1 ( Primary And Main paper )

Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas:

Using the library and Internet, search for information about security management organizations. One example might be a silo structure, which is vertical or hierarchical with both reporting and responsibilities. A second example might be a security working group (WG), which is a service with enterprise-wide participation. Complete the following:

Begin by making a choice of 3 priority security expectations for any security organization.

Justify your choices, and explain why other choices may not have been sufficient.

For each expectation, compare how it is achieved through both the silo and the WG organizational structures.

For each organizational structure, compare the roles that have security responsibilities.

For example, the chief security officer (CSO) has high visibility in both the silo and WG structures, but significant differences in leadership directions.

Acknowledge role differences, and justify changes with their responsibility assignments for each structure.

main task

Project Selection

The first step will be to select a real or hypothetical organization as the target for your Comprehensive Security Management Plan document. This organization will be used as the basis for each of the assignments throughout the course and should conform to the following guidelines:

Nontrivial: The selected organization should be large enough to allow reasonable exercise of the security management analysis and planning processes.

Domain knowledge: You should be familiar enough with the organization to allow focus on the project tasks without requiring significant time for domain education.

Accessibility: You should have good access to the people and other information that is related to the organization because this will be an important part of the process.

The selected organization may already have security management in place, but it may still be used as the basis for the projects in this course.

The selected organization must have a need for some kind of security management as part of its operations.

Feel free to identify a hypothetical organization that meets the requirements.

You may make any necessary assumptions to fulfill the requirements of organization selection.

Select an existing organization or identify a hypothetical organization that fits these requirements, and submit your proposal to your instructor before proceeding further with the assignments in the course. Approval should be sought within the first several days of the course through an e-mail proposal to your instructor.

Assignment

The first task in this process will be to select an organization or identify a hypothetical organization to use as the basis of the projects. Next, you will create the shell document for the final project deliverable that will be worked on during each unit. While you proceed through each project phase, content will be added for each section of the document to gradually complete the final project. Appropriate research should be conducted to support the development of the document, and assumptions may be made.

For the first phase of the Comprehensive Security Management Plan document, you will create an enterprise organizational chart in the first document section. A proposed security working group (WG) organization and its ties to the enterprise will be added. Finally, include a 1-page discussion of the flow of information, decision-making communication, and responsibilities of the chief security officer (CSO). Create the skeleton for the Comprehensive Security Management Plan as follows:

Use Word

Title Page

Course number and name

Project name

Your name

Date

Table of Contents (TOC)

Use an auto-generated TOC.

This must be on a separate page.

This must be a maximum of 3 levels deep.

Be sure to update the fields of the TOC before submitting your project.

Section Headings (Create each heading on a new page with “TBD” as content, except for the sections that are listed under “New Content.”)

Project Outline (Week 1)

Security Requirements (Week 1)

Security Business Requirements (Week 2)

Security Policy (Week 3)

System Design Principles (Week 4)

The Training Module (Week 5)

Please follow MLA format. This is of utmost importance. Follow each and every rule listed. This is not optional.

Please choose one of the following on which to base your paper:

As usual, if you have an idea other than the prompts that interests you; please email your thoughts to me so I can approve them. Your idea must be related to either “Everyday Use,” “Sweat,” or “Float.”

Please choose one of the following on which to base your paper:

  1. We have read a few works about the African American and/or Southern experience. Discuss the African-American-southern-oppression-liberation-racial-equality experience as it appears in one of the stories that fall into this category.

You might want to compare Dee and her mother as symbolic of their heritage (“Everyday Use”). You may want to address the idea of liberty or freedom in “Sweat.” You may want to discuss the sub-textual meaning behind the settings in one of the stories. You may want to explore the cost of recognizing reality in “Float.” You might want to develop an idea about the use of eyes in “Everyday Use.” The choice is yours. Be specific and keep your thesis tight. I will be looking at your thesis during peer review.

  1. Authors use symbolism to strengthen their ideas. Discuss the use of symbolism in one of the short stories we have read for Weeks 5 or 6. Choose one or two skillfully related symbols: washtubs, snake, sneakers, crescent wrench, quilts. No Lists!
  2. Discuss the importance of the men on the porch in the short story “Sweat.” What is their significance? Why does the author put them there and have them comment on their observations? What would we as readers be missing if it were not for the men on the porch?

General Guidelines for MLA format:

· Type your paper on a computer and print it out on standard, white 8.5 x 11-inch paper.

· Double-space the text of your paper, and use a legible font (e.g. Times New Roman). Whatever font you choose, MLA recommends that the regular and italics type styles contrast enough that they are recognizable one from another. The font size should be 12 pt.

· Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks.

· Set the margins of your document to 1 inch on all sides.

· Indent the first line of paragraphs one half-inch from the left margin. MLA recommends that you use the Tab key as opposed to pushing the Space Bar five times.

· Create a header that numbers all pages consecutively in the upper right-hand corner, one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin.

· Use italics throughout your essay for the titles of longer works and, only when absolutely necessary, providing emphasis.

Formatting the First Page of Your Paper:

· Do not make a title page for your paper.

· In the upper left-hand corner of the first page, list your name, your instructor’s name, the course, and the date. Again, be sure to use double-spaced text.

· Double space again and center the title. Do not underline, italicize, or place your title in quotation marks; write the title in Title Case (standard capitalization), not in all capital letters.

· Use quotation marks and/or italics when referring to other works in your title, just as you would in your text: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as Morality Play; Human Weariness in “After Apple Picking”

· Double space between the title and the first line of the text.

· Create a header in the upper right-hand corner that includes your last name, followed by a space with a page number; number all pages consecutively with Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.), one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin. (Note: Your instructor or other readers may ask that you omit last name/page number header on your first page. Always follow instructor guidelines.)

Tips:

· Do not use contractions (don’t, can’t, shouldn’t)

· Stay away from the pronoun I as much as possible. Discuss the characters, not yourself, your feelings or your thoughts. Your thoughts and feelings should shine through in your discussion of the topic.

· Do not make me part of your discussion by using the pronoun you. Avoid sentences like “You can see how much Sammy wants out.” Do not assume anything about the reader. Use the words the reader.

· Do not make unsubstantiated assumptions about anything. Do not start your paper out by saying something like “Life in 1960s was boring.”

· Everything you write in your paper should in some way be substantiating your thesis. Everything.

· Be sure to mention title and author in introduction.
