Farmers Market at the University Stadium

The right strategy is talking about the potential benefits of implementing the project. A university is part of the community meaning raising such a position becomes important. Allowing the market to exist provides an interconnection between the university and the local community (Zhang et al. 2020). Such interaction becomes important in the long term development of the facility including making the community members to be part of the bigger team, which shapes the university.
Listening to the third party on the reasons behind their opposition to the project is also important. Listening and using effective communication becomes important in which the merits and demerits are served to determine the best angle of the entire analysis (Zhang et al. 2020). Integrates and values are important but it is also important to consider and determine the bigger picture. Through critical analysis and engagement, it becomes possible to address the misconception around their reasons of opposing the project.
Changing the thought process is also important leading to involving such an individual in the decision making. For example, ensuring the committee member to continue participating in the program becomes crucial. Having their views on the best approaches to implement the program and address the numerous emerging issues from the arrangement also becomes important (Zhang et al. 2020). Such a frame is usually important when it comes to the analysis of the steps. Additionally, assigning such an individual to the most important areas of the project or program also would make the individual to appreciate the presence of the market in the university. The focus is ensuring the other party recognizes the importance of the program including being part of implementing any suggestions or policies.

Why has the environment for collective bargaining gone so bad in the USA?

Collective bargaining is how workers negotiate contracts with their employers through their unions to set their working conditions. Wages, benefits, and working conditions are all part of this. Collective bargaining can benefit both workers and employers since it helps create conditions where employees have a voice while also establishing workplace norms that management can hold each individual responsible for. Since the 1950s, the climate for collective bargaining in the United States has deteriorated dramatically, especially compared to other countries. Falling union membership and reduced collective agreements competence are two major reasons contributing to this decline.
As per the United States Department of Labor Statistics, roughly one out of every three Americans was a union member in 1960, but just one out of every 10 Americans is a member today. One reason for this can be traced back to current economic conditions. Formerly, most middle-class jobs were in the manufacturing and mining industries. Much of this work has subsequently been off-shored to countries with lower labor costs. The passage of “Right to Work” laws in 28 states across the country further impacted the demise of unions and collective bargaining in the United States. These regulations stipulate that no one can be coerced to join or not join a labor union or pay dues to a labor union as a condition of employment.
Give an example of one or more performance measurement rater errors &. How can the organization best avoid these, and can you share a personal example of committing one of these errors?
Many companies promote front-line workers to supervisory positions without giving appropriate training programs for new authorities to manage others. Due to a lack of training, top front-line management may make inadvertent errors on performance reviews. Staff members are confused, upset, and anxious as an outcome of these unconscious errors. Because we are still humans, it is normal for management to create unintentional mistakes when evaluating employees’ performance and writing a performance assessment document. Our implicit biases against the employee are reflected in these rater inaccuracies. These prejudices can provide a worker with an unjustified immediate disadvantage over their peers.
For instance, a ‘similar-to-me’ error occurs whenever a rater’s attitude in performance appraisal is prejudiced towards employees perceived to be similar to the raters. We may all connect to similar individuals, but we cannot use our capacity to relate to someone to impact our assessment of their success as workers. Because personal prejudices can significantly impact the grading process, it’s critical to develop accurate performance standards. Some of the performance evaluation process biases can be removed by monitoring behavior and using current technologies to measure performance. As a result, it’s critical to recognize these assumptions and account for them while producing a performance assessment document.

Recruiting is something that every company needs to think about, even if it is to fill a vacancy, staff a job vacancy, or organize for the organization’s ability. According to an SHRM survey, 83 percent of HR professionals said they had trouble finding acceptable prospective employees in the previous 12 months. The economy, location growth, partnerships, and competitive action all have an impact on recruiting choices. A company must assess the original goal of the post, the strategic and nonfinancial grounds for generating or completing job vacancies, or even if the jobs may be integrated by existing workers when creating a business case for hiring. The firm may incur economic costs if a job is not generated or replaced, and Staff members must be ready to articulate this effect.
Whether a company recruits publicly or privately must be carefully considered. Many firms prefer to start with filling vacancies and only move to recruit employees if those efforts fail. Internal hiring is less affordable because there are few recruiting fees, and they don’t usually require substantial retraining, compensation, or trip and relocation expenses. Internal hiring is also typically faster. The hiring procedure for an internal hire could take a few weeks. Management is generally supportive of internal recruits, and performance assessment documentation is easily available, and supervisors have a strong knowledge of the employee’s skills.
Employees may also find it simpler to thrive in a new position inside the same firm if they already have working relationships and are familiar with the organizational culture. Internal recruitment is also beneficial to staff morale, which is of crucial concern. Employees who see roles being filled from the outside may believe they have no destiny at their company and may lack motivation or depart in search of a better opportunity. To keep top talent, Staples promotes employee empowerment. Employers utilize recruitment agencies to attract employees with certain skill sets that aren’t available in-house or when they want to expand or change the direction of their organization. One advantage of bringing someone new into the organization is a different angle.
The labor organization in the United States arose from the necessity to safeguard workers’ collective interests. Organized labor unions pushed for higher salaries, more appropriate working hours, and safer working conditions for people in the industrial sector. The labor movement was at the forefront of attempts to end child labor, offer health benefits, and assist injured or retired workers. The labor movement began in the early years of the American republic when a free wage-labor market formed late in the colonial period in the artisan trades. The first documented strike took place in 1768 in New York when journeymen tailors opposed a salary cut. The Federal Society of Journeymen Cordwainers (Shoemakers) was founded in That definition of trade unionism as a movement of the entire working class was unavoidable.
As an official policy, they all stated that it represented all employees, regardless of talent, color, religion, nationality, or gender. However, the skilled crafts were the only ones represented in the national unions that formed the fall. As a result, the trade union movement was faced with a dilemma almost immediately: how to reconcile ideological objectives with contradictory institutional realities. As vast technical change began to undercut the crafting system of production, several national unions, most notably in coal mining and the garment trades, moved toward an industrial structure. However, most craft unions either refused to organize the less skilled or failed to do so, like iron and steel and meatpacking. And, because skill lines tended to follow racial, ethnic, and gender lines, the trade union movement took on a racist and sexist hue. For a brief time, they defied this trend. When the Federation could not form its own multiracial machinists’ union in 1895, it reversed a previous principled decision and established the whites-only International Association of Machinists. Following that, the color bar spread throughout the labor movement, whether formally or informally. Blacks made up less than 3% of the total membership in 1902, with the majority of them segregated in Jim Crow locals.
Thus, a job-conscious orientation quickly emerged, and in its wake emerged the key structural elements that characterize American trade unionism–first, central labor bodies uniting craft unions within a single city, beginning with the formation of the Mechanics’ Union of Trade Associations in Philadelphia in 1827, and then, with the creation of the International Typographical Union in 1852, national unions bringing together local unions of the same trade across the country. Even though the factory system was forming during this, industrial workers played a minor role in the early growth of trade unions. Trade unionism was primarily a movement of skilled workers in the nineteenth century.

Cloud Computing Privacy and Security Issues in the Healthcare Industry

The advancement of technology and numerous tools for assisting patients has resulted in the importance of cloud computing. Cloud computing has numerous benefits, but there are likely some privacy and security issues because the patient’s data are stored in third-party utilities (Keshta & Odeh, 2021). Recognizing these risks provides a means of championing the privacy and the rights of the patient.
The researcher aims to employ a mixed research approach. The mixed research approach would inform the frequency of use of cloud computing resources while also presenting information about behavior around the computing system (Sharma, Gupta & Acharya, 2020). It provides a means of balancing both quantitative and qualitative data collection. A sample of 50 people from the different health industries and information technology industry would be involved. Through an electronic questionnaire, the researcher aims to request the respondents to fill the questionnaire.
The foundational theory is positivism. The researcher is limited to the way the data is collected and how the data is interpreted objectively (Park, Konge & Artino, 2020). Engaging in the research, including the research design, makes it easier to learn the influence of cloud computing on privacy and security, including its impact on the healthcare industry.

Conflict in the Workplace: Experience with the Missed Orders

Conflict in the Workplace: Experience with the Missed Orders
• Background and history that led to the conflict
I remember an incident at the workplace about an order that a customer had requested. The customer had ordered online, and her expectation was to come and pick the product. The objective of the customer was the normal punctual delivery of the food and the products. However, we failed the customer before the customer did not receive the order on time and also the ordered food was different from the one the customer had ordered. I had been tasked with overseeing a group of three individuals who were working on the details and arrangements, which becomes important in the entire arrangement. The three individuals dealt with receiving customers calls including responding to social media platforms engagement and support systems. These strategies becomes important in ensuring the message is communicated appropriately, and the diverse needs of the clients are achieved.
Initially, the employees did not make such mistakes. Procedures were clear in which the customer made the order including the ingredients associated with food. The different customers had made their respective orders in the past, and these orders were meet and fulfilled effectively. The strategy is to comprehend and understand the demands of the society of other working arrangements. These systems ensures that each individual makes the right order while the staff ensures the provision of the services become important. The framework is to recognize the demands while also recognizing the right systems and processes that impact the service delivery and other related programs.
• How/Why did the conflict escalate?
The scenario worsened because more customers came to complain about their respective orders. We had not experienced such a problem because the situation even became worse because of the inability to recognize the differences of the products and services (Baillien et al., 2017). The risk of allergies also became apparent because some of the customers might have order the right food but the product received were wrong. Such a system becomes important in the entire arrangement and support system in which a customer was required to access the food and beverages they ordered. The increasing number of complaints forced us to check the entire production line including the way the customers posted their information until when the kitchen received the order.
• How was the conflict resolved?
Through extensive review of processes and other related approaches, it becomes important to recognize the possible areas in which problems can occur. The mechanism is to understand the diversity of the information, and the way the information moved from one individual to the other. Since the information is well documented in which each stage and approach had its respective information and details become important in presenting and addressing the information (Baillien et al., 2017). These numerous processes affected the way the information was shared including other steps affecting the entire process. Such an understanding also meant that the source of the problem would be easily identified and addressed.
The extensive audit that took a shorter time because of the interests and the expectations of different parties became apparent. The problem was identified as an update to the ordering and supply software. In the previous night, the company’s software was update in which numerous features and functionalities were included into the operations. The objective was to improve the operational processes including ensuring the orders were clearly presented. Other details included the amount of orders, the loyalty of the customers, and the experience of the customers. The system also had a means to review the information, and details that are important in making the right strategic decisions and approaches. The means is appreciating the information, which also means impacting and influencing the performance.
The review also considered the direct impact of the processes and procedures on the customers. The means was to address frustrations of the customers, which was achieved through engagement and consultation. The customers were provided with benefit coupons depending on their purchase histories, their loyalties and the levels of inconveniences (Cockburn, Smith & Cockburn, 2019). The mechanism behind the process is to address the concerns of the customer and also to champion the entire process. These perspectives becomes important in influencing attitudes and expectations of the customer. Addressing such issues also provides a platform for the customers to recognize the customers are interested in their operations including other ideological objectives and needs.
• What would the student have done different based on what he/she has learned in the class
I would have done numerous things differently depending in the context and scenarios. The objective is recognizing the demands of the workplace and the best mechanism to support the customers while creating an appropriate means to support the operations. The following are some of the recommendations based on the information I learned from class:
i. Effective communication becomes important in addressing most conflicts. The mechanism is to understand the nature of the problem while also engaging others on the best approaches to address the issue (Baillien et al., 2017). For example, the employees should have been informed about the importance of the update and the possible impacts of the program (Cockburn, Smith & Cockburn, 2019). Effective communication also becomes important in comprehending and understanding the workplace demands and other processes that are crucial in ensuring the different stakeholders understand the ways of processes and operations.
ii. The presence of procedures and approaches are important in shaping and influencing the training outcomes and also the ability to pinpoint the problem early enough (Cockburn, Smith & Cockburn, 2019). The scenario is that the procedure should be clear, which would enable the employees to recognize the problem early enough (Keashly, Minkowitz & Nowell, 2020). It points to the component of training, which reflects the workplace demands. Ability to recognize the issue early enough would have provided a ground to address the problem early enough.
iii. Managerial oversight and decision making are other factors that impacts the society and the demands of the workplace (Cockburn, Smith & Cockburn, 2019). The managers should know their roles and responsibilities including the threats, which would impact directly their respective position (Baillien et al., 2017). The mechanism is to recognize the complexity about the entire problem early enough including engaging in those processes that affects the workplace demands (Smith & Fredricks-Lowman, 2020). The objective is understanding the operational requirements that also provides a means to develop and grow at the workplace.
iv. The team members should understand their operational requirements and demands. The workplace regulations are important because each individual has the power and capacity to make the right decisions (Handford & Koester, 2019). The mechanism is to create team bonding in which each of the employees work together and can collaborate to identify the problem before the entire process becomes worse. The need is the steps, which each individual might require to fulfill and operate (Cockburn, Smith & Cockburn, 2019). These fundamentals become important in the entire analysis in that the ability of the team members to work together would ensure the best approaches to support the entire developmental objectives.
The perspective is to recognize that conflicts are unavoidable in any workplace. It becomes important to bring together different stakeholders in supporting the entire process and suspects associated with the workplace. Making mistakes is normal but the best approach is addressing the reason behind the mistake and the steps to prevent reoccurrence of the issue. The means is to understand that each process has its unique demands and processes, which also points to the obligations. Considering such aspects, it point to the mechanism to work together and to support each other.

Laws Influencing Information Security and Privacy in the Federal Government

Laws Influencing Information Security and Privacy in the Federal Government
Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is the major international counterintelligence and intelligence agency in the U.S. government. Initially, it was established in 1947 and later developed from the Second World War Office of Strategic Offices (OSS). Past counterintelligence and intelligence efforts had been conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the military. However, these efforts faced stiff competition, duplication, and lack of coordination that ensued to uncontrollable levels into the 21st century. The U.S. government considered that it should control all peacetime operations impacting international relations. Although the process of adopting the CIA has not been as easy as it seemed, the 1947 National Security Act played a key role in its enforcement, and it is now one of the most effective intelligence agencies in the U.S.
The FBI maintained a system in which the armed services would control military intelligence, and the activities by the civilians would be under the jurisdiction of the FBI. In reaction to this policy discussion, President Harry S. Truman formed the Central Intelligence Group in 1946 and directed it to control departmental intelligence by supplementing rather than supplanting their services (History, n.d.). The plan was to be conducted under the directives of a State Intelligence Authority constituting the Secretaries of State, a Presidential representative, Navy, and War. The Deputy Chief of Naval Intelligence, Rear Admiral Sidney W. Souers, was nominated as the first Director of Central Intelligence. One and a half years later, the National Intelligence Authority and the Central Intelligence team were abolished.
Under the directives of the 1947 National Security Act, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the National Security Council were created. The provisions under the National Security Act, given the restrain on internal security functions and the police, as well as the CIA, closely followed the first Donovan plan of 1944 and the Presidential consent establishing the Central Intelligence Group (History, n.d.). The 1947 National Security Act necessitated the CIA to coordinate the correlating and intelligence activities of the nation, disseminating and assessing which affected the national security. Additionally, the CIA conducted other functions and duties associated with intelligence as the NSC might provide. Furthermore, the National Security Act also created the Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) accountable for safeguarding methods and sources.
One major intention of establishing the CIA was to avoid the recurrence of the Pearl Harbor intelligence negligence, where abundant information that could have warned about the Japanese attack was not intertwined as it should have been initially. The National Security Act allowed agencies and departments to continue disseminating and gathering departmental intelligence (History, n.d.). However, the CIA was charged to evaluate and coordinate all state intelligence, which entailed intelligence relevant to numerous agencies and departments.
The CIA also became the primary clandestine for gathering information from human sources. Indeed, that role has highly overshadowed the original task of the Agency as an information analysis center in the eye of the public. The CIA is also accountable for conducting covert action programs as charged and approved by the head of state. In the past, the CIA concentrated on serving the head of state, agencies and departments in the Executive branch, and the NSC (History, n.d.). Furthermore, the CIA has been offering extensive considerable assessments to Congress, a task specifically debated in the 1992 National Security Act amendments.
The CIA Act was also adopted in 1949 to supplement the 1947 Act by allowing the Agency to utilize confidential administrative and fiscal processes and exonerate the CIA from numerous normal constraints on the expenditure of government funds. It necessitated that CIA funds could be involved in the budgets of other government departments and then deferred to the Agency without concerning the constraints positioned on the previous appropriation (History, n.d.). The Act is the lawful authority for the Agency’s budget secrecy. In order to secure intelligence methods and sources from revelation, the 1949 Act further restricted the CIA from having to reveal its organization names, functions, salaries, officials, or numbers of the personnel deployed.
The FBI and CIA are both associates of the American Intelligence Community. However, the CIA lacks law enforcement duty. Instead, it gathers and evaluates the information that is crucial to the creation of U.S. policy, especially in areas that affect the security of the country. The CIA is allowed to gather data concerning foreign nations and their inhabitants (History, n.d.). Contrary to the FBI, it is restrained from gathering information about the U.S. citizens, a rule that involves resident aliens, U.S. citizens, U.S. corporations, legal immigrants, irrespective of where they are positioned. Therefore, unlike the FBI, which is a local intelligence agency, the CIA has no law enforcement duty and is officially majorly focused on overseas information collection, with only constrained local intelligence collection.
The CIA operates as a state controller to cooperate humanitarian practices across the American intelligence community. It is the only government agency allowed by law to conduct and predict oversee covert acts at the approval of the head of state (History, n.d.). The CIA employs foreign political impact through tactical categorizations, like the Activities Center. Initially, the CIA was also responsible for identifying intelligence services in various U.S. allied nations, like the BND of Germany. It has also offered support to numerous international political governments and groups, including coordinating, planning, technical support, training on torture, and was involved in various regime transformations, terrorism activities, and planned assassinations of international leaders.
Between 2012 and 2016, the CIA was involved in forensic investigations that affected the entire intelligence community, private organizations, and individual contractors working hard for the country’s progress. The fraud involved an individual known as Garrison Courtney. Courtney defrauded his victims over 4.4 million dollars by claiming to be a secret CIA officer involved in a forged categorized task force (The United States Department of Justice, 2020). However, his elaborate plan could have caused serious repercussions if the investigative partners and the justice department had not successfully intervened in the case. Courtney, who was an initial Drug Enforcement Administration government affairs employee, was imprisoned for seven years in jail for defrauding many people with a large sum of money and pretending to be a CIA official.
The CIA often reports to the House Permanent Select Intelligence Committee and the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, as charged by the 1980 Intelligence Oversight Act and several administrative rules. In addition, the CIA also often reports to the Defense Subcommittees of the Committees of Appropriation in the two houses of Congress. Furthermore, the Agency also offers detailed briefings to the Armed Services Committees in the two bodies, the House Committee on International Affairs and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, as well as other individual groups and committees. All these confirmations ensure that the Agency complies with the set rules. Moreover, it protects the CIA from breaching its security rights. Intruders or individuals targeting to confiscate its operations are restricted. Furthermore, it can hardly disclose its internal secrets to the public.

Strategies to Overcome a Hostile Negotiating Environment

Strategies to Overcome a Hostile Negotiating Environment
In any negotiation environment, arguments often arise due to misunderstandings among the parties involved. However, it is normal because opinions vary, and one party should ultimately win. Negotiation is a technique for debating issues that matter. Thus, the approaches of overcoming an unconducive negotiating environment imply that one party will have to introduce valid opinions. Therefore, the strong party should be aggressive in order to make their points valid. On the other hand, the weaker party will also support their points. Consequently, this creates a hostile negotiating environment. To understand what causes a hostile negotiating environment, this essay will analyze a journal by Mhaibes and Al-Janabi addressing the strategies applied to overcome a hostile negotiating environment.
Summary of the Article
During the process of negotiation, various major approaches require to be considered. In support of this notion is a journal by Mhaibes and Al-Janabi. The article suggests that parties engaging in a discussion under an unconducive environment should consider the setting of the place where the negotiation is ensuing (Mhaibes & Al-Janabi, 2019). The setting where a discussion takes place determines how the debate will transpire. Additionally, the two debating parties should also allow each party to provide their own opinions without interruption. Providing room for the presentation of facts allows the strong party to have the opportunity to support their points.
During negotiation, the opposition should also get the opportunity to introduce their counterarguments. As a result, this opportunity allows the leader of the motion to note the party with the most valid points and finally identify the victorious party. Mhaibes and Al-Janabi (2019) also assert that the time limit should be observed during negotiation. It is unacceptable for one party to provide abundant information at the beginning of the debate because it would waste time and distract the other party from supporting their points. When those issues are considered, each party of the negotiation will ultimately have adequate time and the opportunity to analyze the other party’s points and introduce theirs.
Negotiating becomes a challenging task to control without proper techniques if the environment is unconducive. The setting where a debate is ensuing should always be accommodative. In support of this notion is the article by Mhaibes and Al-Janabi (2019), which argues that in a place where discussion is taking place, both parties should be engaged. Any interruption during the negotiation process should be restricted. Every party involved in the discussion should be allowed adequate time to support their notion. Moreover, the leaders of the negotiation process need to be impartial. They should not be allowed to favor one side solely. A justifiable decision cannot be achieved if the debate leader focuses on the ideas of a single party.
The best way to achieve a conducive negotiating environment is to use effective strategies. Some of the most effective techniques that should be applied in negotiation include comprehending the conflicts that may arise, ensuring that the environment is conducive, and understanding the agenda of the debate. Mhaibes and Al-Janabi (2019) conclude that it is unethical to introduce personal interests or interrupt the process of negotiation. It is crucial to focus on the topic being discussed, and provide valid arguments.
During negotiation, the setting where the debate is ensuing should be considered. There should be no interruption, which allows each negotiating party to provide valid topics. Furthermore, the leader of the motion should be impartial. They should not favor any side to ensure that an ultimate decision is made. Consequently, the process of negotiation will be smooth.

Impacts of Cancel Culture & Political Correctness on Interactions

Impacts of Cancel Culture & Political Correctness on Interactions
Cancel culture is a phenomenon where the cancelling of people, movies, shows or brands is promoted as a result of what some people consider to be remarks or ideologies that are problematic or offensive (Ng, 2020). Cancel culture has been present throughout the history of humanity. People have been punished by society whenever they behave without following the social norms of that society. According to Dr. Jill McCornel, a professor of criminology and sociology at Villanova University, cancel culture is an extension a bolder set of social processes of contemporary evolution seen within society in the form of banishment. Cancel culture has been a trending topic in social media and mainstream media. Celebrities, companies and media have ended up being watched closely of their political correctness.
JK Rowling and Eminem have been cancelled. Rowling has been cancelled many times for many years more especially for her negative comments against the transgender community. Eminem was also cancelled over his lyrics in his 2010 hit song “ Love the Way You Lie” was reported to be glorifying violence against women and the verse where the rapper sing “If she ever tries to fucking leave again leave again I’ma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire.”
Cancelling celebrities, brands, shows or movies tend to create a sense of solidarity with the victim of cancellation and the feeling of being together at a low. There is a reinforcement of a political division which gives people a sense of solidarity. It is psychologically intoxicating when people feel part of a group as one feel to be part of something larger than self. This phenomenon has been huge on twitter which has developed watch dogs for pop-culture racism (Bouvier, 2020).
Cancel culture has in the recent past gone too far. People should be allowed to enjoy their democratic rights by engaging with one another in ways that are meaningful to solve the political differences that may exist. Behaviours that should be cancelled should be those that are agreed collectively by a society.
