Case study

Ann, a community nurse, made an afternoon home visit with Susan and her father. After the death of her mother, Susan had growing concerns about her father living alone. “I worry about my father all the time. He is becoming more forgetful and he has trouble seeing. Mom used to take care of him. I am not sleeping and I am irritable around him. Yesterday I shouted at him because he wouldn’t let me help him with his laundry. I felt terrible! I am at my wits’ end! My brothers and sisters do not want to put dad in a nursing home but they are not willing to help out. As usual, they have left me with all the responsibility. I work part time and have two small children to care for.” Susan’s father, Sam, sat quietly with tears filling his eyes. He was well nourished and well-groomed but would not make eye contact. Nurse Ann noticed that the house was clean and orderly. A tray in front of the TV had the remains of a ham sandwich and glass of ice tea. Mail was piled up, unopened on a small table near the front door. There was only one car in the driveway and the yard was in need of attention.

What questions does Orlando’s theory guide the nurse to consider in caring for Susan and Sam?
Develop a family plan of care from the perspective of Orlando.

An essential part of being a special educator is writing and implementing IEPs and lesson plans associated with goals on IEPs. Due to legal requirements, special educators should understand the steps that go into planning effective lessons and appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities. Being able to translate IEP goals into learning objectives and accompanying lessons requires practice.

Review “Marcus Partial IEP and Lesson” to inform the assignment.

Upon reviewing the Present Level of Performance and the second grade literacy-based standards, create one academic goal specific to Marcus’ needs. Include this academic goal within the “Lesson Summary and Focus” section of the “COE Lesson Plan Template.”

Design a standards-based lesson plan, using the “COE Lesson Plan Template,” that modifies and extends skills taught in Marcus’ sample lesson plan and is aligned to his identified academic goal.

Write a 250-500 word rationale explaining your instructional choices, how your lesson extends the skills taught in the “Sample Lesson Plan” for Marcus, and how the lesson is appropriate for meeting Marcus’ academic goal. Discuss how elements of UDL will be incorporated to enhance Marcus’ learning.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

Hi, I am looking for someone to write an article on sanctions on iraq and iran: policy recommendations Paper must be at least 1000 words. Please, no plagiarized work! On the other hand, economic sanctions in Iraq have negatively influenced scores of innocent citizens by limiting the availability of food and medicines and disrupting the whole economy, impoverishing Iraqi citizens while depriving them of their need for income. As well as reducing the national water treatment capacity, electrical systems and other infrastructure critical to life and health (Alnasrawi, 2002). The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have positioned American troops along Irans borders, making the United States and Iran wary competitors and neighbors who nonetheless possess overlapping interests. Clearly, contending with Iran will be one of the most pressing and complex challenges facing future U.S. administrations.

This informative report, which incited sharp debate in Washington and extensive coverage by U.S. and international media, offers a timely new approach policy-wise for Iran. Similarly, Some UN and other agencies have called on the Security Council to modify Iraq sanctions thoroughly. Two most respected UN humanitarian coordinators have resigned in protest, arguing for a stop to the punitive sanctions (Gordon, 2010). Journalists, religious leaders, NGOs, diplomats, health authorities, human rights organizations, parliamentarians and citizens have joined in a compelling call for change.

Foreign assets of Iraq must be unfrozen to normalize its external economic relations apparently, though. such change will not lack risks.

. The number of ultra-Orthodox Jews has close been growing at a considerably higher rate compared to those of other Israelis based on the available figures representing statistics on birth rates for all Israeli demographic groups. This essay explores the effect of the two factors on the future of internal security in Israel based on the beliefs that these groups hold in reference to government policies.

The first factor when considering the internal threats to Israel’s security is the continued increase in the Palestinian Arabs and Muslims. The balance of power within Israel might be at risk given that the rate of population growth for the Palestinian Arabs and Muslims has been higher than that of the Israelis. After, the establishment of Israel as a country, the number of Jews in the country recorded an increased rate that was higher than other groups within the country. Data presented by Rebhun, Malach, and Gavison indicates the population of Jews in Israel grew to 89 in 1968 of total residents from 82 percent recorded in 1958. However, this percentage as far as the total population is concerned has seen a negative growth with the figure falling to 86 percent in 1968 and further down at 76 percent in the most recent survey.

Friedlander traces the high birth rate for the Palestinian Arabs and Muslims to early3 when Palestine society was composed of a population whose main economic activity was agriculture. Large family seizes was encouraged since having many children ensured the agricultural society has adequate labor leading to a high fertility rate of approximately about 7.5-8.0 births per woman. The consequence of these high birth rates has been a steady increase in the Arab population in Israel with the three main subgroups made up of Muslims, Druze and Christians recording different growth rates.&nbsp.

Directions: Answer two of the following sets of questions. Be sure to write complete sentences, double space, set one-inch margins, and use Times Roman 12-point font.  Aim for about one-and-a half to two pages for each of your answers.
Be sure to place your name on your exam.  Also, remember to cite any sources you use and be careful not plagiarize, which will be penalized with a grade of F for the exam.
1. Why did socialism develop into such a strong challenge to laissez faire economics (capitalism)? What were Karl Marx’s three chief criticisms of capitalism? Briefly explain his theory of revolution. According to Marx, what conditions had to be met before a country was ready for socialism? Why did Karl Marx’s critique of capitalism become so influential after his death?
2. Russia made substantial economic, social, and political progress between 1861 and 1914. Why, then, did the tsarist government collapse so suddenly in February/March* 1917 and be replaced by a Provisional (temporary) Government? Why were the Bolsheviks (soon to call themselves Communists) under Lenin able to overthrow the Provisional Government in October/November of that year, and why did they win the subsequent Russian Civil War (1918-1921)? What kind of leader was Stalin, and how did he diverge from Lenin’s policies in his “revolution from above”?
*Remember: the Russian used the old Julian calendar until February 1918, when the Communists adopted the Gregorian calendar. The Julian calendar was thirteen days behind the Gregorian calendar in the 20th century.
3. What is imperialism? Briefly explain four reasons for the unprecedented European expansion into Africa and Asia during the period 1870-1914. Explain two important effects of imperialism for Europeans and two for native populations in Africa and Asia? How did people in China and India eventually respond to European imperialism?
4. Discuss the causes of the Great War (World War I) and the reasons for the Allies’ victory. Was any one nation more responsible than others for the war?  Why was France so determined to punish Germany after the war? Was the punishment just?
5. What circumstances were conducive to the rise of dictatorships and the decline of democracies between 1918 and 1939, particularly in Italy and Germany? What were three important similarities between Italian fascism and German Nazism. What made German Nazism and Italian Fascism such aggressive, even warmongering, ideologies?
6. Various writers have suggested that the twentieth century’s World Wars in their European contexts were in fact civil wars between competing ideologies, one representing progressive ideas and values that originated in the Enlightenment, and the other, the antithesis of progressive ideas and values. Discuss.
Bonus: Answer either A or B (if you answer both, only the first one will count). Twenty to twenty-five words should suffice.
A. Based on your study of history this semester, what is the best answer to the following question: “why has there been so much warfare in history?” An answer more sophisticated than human greed (which may be a product of specific economic and social forces rather than a product of human nature) is necessary. (2 points)
B. Identify and briefly explain two important values (beware of confusing value with institution. Government, education, religion, etc. are institutions) found in the history of world civilizations since 1600 that we ought to cultivate in the 21st century.

molecular biology and developmental biology

molecular biology and developmental biology

methods used to study child development. Needs to be plagiarism free! The theory of evolution has been a very good tool for studying child development. When microscopy evolved and improved in the 19th century, embryology developed as a scientific field and thus assisted the process of studying child development (Harris and Butterworth, 2002: 5). Two theories prevailed in that period. One was preformationism, which said that an embryo was a miniature human being which became bigger in due course (Sapp, 2003: 39). The other was recapitulationism which declared that “in the embryonic period, organisms pass through the adult form of all species from which they have evolved” (Harris and Butterworth, 2002: 5).

It was only after the 1950s that molecular biology and developmental biology evolved as a highly technically perfect research field, which in turn, revealed the DNA structure of the specie (Sapp, 2003: 187). From this period onwards, embryology entered a new phase of precision, which helped child development researchers to shed their preconceived wrong notions and base their studies on pure scientific evidence. Genetics thus became a highly contributing field to child development research and molecular technology and biotechnology started to reveal the hitherto unknown connection between human development and the genes.

The notion of “genotype-environment interaction” in child development was a result of the growth of genetics (Plomin, 1986: 108). For example, it has been found that the majority of children having musically inclined parents show the same inclination towards music (Plomin, 1986: 108). But whether this can be attributed to the genotype or the environment is a matter of debate as musically inclined parents usually provide their children with an atmosphere of exposure to music (Plomin, 1986: 109). This slowly led to another concept called genotype-environment correlation which was supported by genetic research also (Plomin, 1986: 109).
