Big data is information assets that require new forms of processing to enable enhanced decision making, insight discovery and process optimization. More generally, a data set can be called Big Data if it is formidable to perform capture, analysis and visualize it at the current technologies. More plainly, the use of Big Data is the bringing together of large, disparate forms of structured and unstructured data to make it useful for the organisation. An example of the use of Big Data would be Amazon’s use of data to make personalised customer recommendations. Other examples exist. Innovation is the implementation of new ideas. In a business sense this is done for profit. Explore whether the use of Big Data is an innovation? Justify your conclusions with your own research?.
